China aims to double robot density

China wants to expand the use of manufacturing robots by 2025, according to an action plan published last week
Robot density – measured by the number of robots per 10,000 manufacturing workers – is a key indicator to measure a country’s level of automation and smart manufacturing.
According to the action plan issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, the country will try to double the density of production robots by 2025 compared to 2020, in order to promote economic and social development. High Quality.
The plan calls for a focus on 10 key application areas, including manufacturing, agriculture, construction, energy, logistics, medical care, aged care, education, commercial services, and applications. emergency response and applications in harsh environments.
It also highlights efforts to build a collaborative innovation system for robot production and application, while accelerating development and advancing robot application standards. Accordingly, a series of industry-leading robotics verification and application enterprises, experience centers and verification centers will be established.
According to the World Robotics Report 2022, China currently ranks 5th in terms of robot density, with a ratio of robots per 10,000 workers in the manufacturing industry at 322, behind South Korea (1,000), Singapore (670), and Japan. (399) and Germany (397). This is the first time China has surpassed the US (274) on this ranking.
