Made by GE Intelligent Platforms, the IC200ALG240 is a VersaMax Analog Input Module. This module is capable of processing input signals from a maximum of eight analog devices and providing data output at a resolution of 16 bits. The IC200ALG240 has two modes of operation: voltage mode and current mode. In voltage mode, the input range is 1 to 20 milliamps. In current mode, the input range is +/- 10 volts.
This module has eight isolated input channels, each of which has a current range of 4 to 20 milliamps. Additional features of this device include the ability to detect open wires, a converter resolution of 16 bits, and precise factory calibration. Certain features of the IC200ALG240 can also be configured and altered via software, such as changing alarm levels for individual channels, changing the default values for individual channels, and scaling individual channels. The update rate for channel data is 20mS at 50Hz filter frequency and 16.7mS at 60Hz filter frequency.
To monitor status for this module, diagnostic features and on-board LED lights are provided. Diagnostic reports on range status, field power loss, NVRAM faults, the presence of open wires, and more are available. The LED lights indicate module and power status.
The IC200ALG240 is 4.3 inches wide, or 110mm; 2.63 inches tall, or 66.8mm; and 1.956 inches deep, or 50mm. Note: These dimensions do not include the carrier or mating connector height. A 5V and a 3.3V connection backplane are used for this module, through which power is provided to the device. The 5V backplane consumes up to 15 milliamps of current, and the 3.3V backplane consumes up to 120 milliamps of current.
