The CX2043 is a modular expandable embedded PC for DIN rail mounting and features an AMD Ryzen™ V1807B CPU with a clock speed of 3.35 GHz and four cores. The power supply required for operation allows the use and direct connection of all Beckhoff I/O components to this CPU module.
TwinCAT automation software turns the CX2043 system into a high-performance PLC and motion control system that can be used with or without visualization. Both TwinCAT 2 in 32-bit mode and the latest version of TwinCAT 3 in 64-bit mode are supported. The CX2033 and CX2043’s continued TwinCAT 2 support ensures investment protection for projects and systems that have been or will be created using this 32-bit generation.
CX20x3 series devices are characterized by outstanding real-time characteristics under peak computing loads. This allows deterministic processing with short cycle times on each core of the CPU.
The basic hardware setup includes two independent Gbit-Ethernet interfaces, four USB 3.0 Gen. 2, one DVI-D interface and optional multiple interfaces can be factory-equipped with a flexible choice of other interfaces (e.g. serial port, fieldbus or second video connection).
Internal RAM size is 8 GB; Up to 32 GB is also optional. The controller boots from a CFast card and has 128 kB NOVRAM internally for use as persistent data memory.
The CX2043 is cooled by a speed-monitored fan and high-quality speed control. The fan box features wireless communication and is easy to replace.
Other CX2000 series components can be connected via multi-pin terminals on either side. Up to four modules of type CX2500-xxxx can be connected on the left side of the base CPU module. Connection order is irrelevant. Internally, the modules are connected via PCI Express and can be plugged into the CPU in the field.
Modules of type CX2550 (e.g. hard drives/SSD modules) and power supplies of type CX2100-xxxx can be connected on the right. The power supply supplies power to the entire CPU module system and all plugged-in optional components. All Beckhoff EL and KL terminals can be connected directly to the power supply. Therefore, a compact unit including the controller and I/O level is created on the DIN rail.
The extended operating temperature range from -25°C to +60°C allows the CX2043 to be used in harsh climatic conditions.
